Create your first browser profile

Browser profiles Published · 2 min read

A profile is an independent browser with its own fingerprint, proxy, cookies and history. Create one profile for each account you manage.

Quick profile (one click)

Click QUICK PROFILE: GhostFox creates a profile with a realistic fingerprint and no proxy. It is perfect for a quick test, but for real accounts we recommend the full method below.

Create a complete profile

  1. Click CREATE PROFILE.
  2. In the General tab, enter a Profile name (for example the account or client name).
  3. Optionally choose a Status, add Tags and a Folder to keep things organised.
  4. Add your Proxy (see how to add a proxy).
  5. Click SAVE.

The fingerprint (Advanced tab)

GhostFox generates a consistent fingerprint automatically. In the Advanced tab you can review or change it:

  • OS and User-agent – the operating system and browser version shown to websites.
  • WebRTC – keep it on "Altered" so websites see the proxy IP instead of your real IP.
  • Timezone and Geolocation – on "Auto: based on the proxy IP", they follow the proxy location.
  • Canvas, WebGL, Audio, Client Rects – noise is added so the profile has a unique, stable fingerprint.
  • CPU (cores) and Memory (GB) – the hardware values reported by the browser.

Not sure what to change? Keep the defaults. Click NEW FINGERPRINT if you want GhostFox to generate a different one.

Cookies and start pages

You can import existing cookies (JSON or Netscape .txt format) with UPLOAD COOKIES FILE; they are added at the next launch. In Start pages, enter one URL per line to open them automatically.

Launch the profile

Click START next to the profile. A new browser window opens with its own identity. Click STOP or close the window when you are done: everything is saved inside the profile.

Organise your profiles

  • Folders – group profiles by client or project.
  • Pin to top – keep important profiles first in the list.
  • Copy profile – duplicate settings to create similar profiles quickly.
  • Export / Import – move profiles to another computer.
